A very worthy cause

Jan 27th, 2008 | By Chuck | Category: Heart Strings, Public Service

I do a fair amount of lurking at a few sites. One of them is " All That Comes With It" authored by the intelligent and funny Dan.

I have Dan’s site in my Google Reader but somehow I missed his latest post. Thankfully Xbox4NappyRash posted about it and got me to head over there.

If you haven’t already clicked one of the links above you really need to. Here is part of the opening of the post. The meat occurs after this.

As many of you already know, this July I will be walking the 78 mile long Dales Way footpath. Yes, 78 miles. In six days. And what’s more it was my own idea. Many are predicting it will be the end of me.

I am doing the walk in aid of The Joseph Salmon Trust, a charity set up by our close friends Neil and Rachel in memorial of their son Joseph. In April of 2005 three year old Joseph died suddenly in his sleep.

Following this bit are some words from Rachel that are heart-breaking, encouraging and inspirational.

The fundraising for the walk officially begins today. All the details are in the post. Reading it is certainly worth your time. I hope you think it is worth a bit of money as well.
