Wonderful distraction – off topic

This is an off topic post but well worth it in my opinion.

The Library of Congress has published more than 3000 photos to Flickr. One reason behind publishing the photos is to encourage Flickr users to comment on and tag the photos thus improving the bibliographic records of the images.

I think this is awesome stuff!

There are currently two sets, 1930s-40s in color and News in the 1910s. The quality of these photos, and their preservation, is beyond impressive. Go ahead and check it out! Just make sure you’ve got at least an hour to poke around. You’ll need it.

Wait – they made people in color back then??

cool pics. It’s just that I can’t picture life in the “olden days” in color. Totally throws me off. Truthfully though, anything at this moment will throw me off! Happy Weekend Bloghoppers!
