On health and stretch marks

Jan 29th, 2008 | By Mike | Category: Humor Central, Papa Prattle, Public Service

A few years ago I finally got into the habit of going to a doctor for checkups once a year whether I needed it or not. I just thought it was important at this stage in my life if wanted to live a long healthy life and see my kids grow into adulthood.
The doctor [...]

A very worthy cause

Jan 27th, 2008 | By Chuck | Category: Heart Strings, Public Service

I do a fair amount of lurking at a few sites. One of them is "
All That Comes With It" authored by the intelligent and funny
Dan.
I have Dan’s site in my Google Reader but somehow I missed his
latest post. Thankfully
Xbox4NappyRash posted about it and got me to head over there.

TechTalk: Protect your network and family with OpenDNS

Jan 24th, 2008 | By Chuck | Category: Public Service, Tech Talk

In our household we may have as many as six computers on our network at one time. My laptop, my wife’s laptop, the family computer, the kids computer and a laptop for both of my oldest kids. As each of these computers have been introduced into our network I have done my best to [...]

The price of winning II

Jan 21st, 2008 | By Mike | Category: Papa Prattle, Proud Papa

I chronicled our first experience with this event last year (albeit 11 months late) in “

This blog sprung to life just five short months ago. Along the way we managed to meet some great people and discovered some truly creative, encouraging and fun blogs. Just browse through the links on the right to get an idea of what I’m talking about.
We also wrote a few posts early on that [...]

Wonderful distraction - off topic

Jan 17th, 2008 | By Chuck | Category: Pointless Posts, Public Service

This is an off topic post but well worth it in my opinion.
The
Library of Congress has published more than 3000 photos to Flickr. One reason behind publishing the photos is to encourage Flickr users to comment on and tag the photos thus improving the bibliographic records of the images.
I think this is awesome [...]

Attack of the Clones

Jan 14th, 2008 | By Mike | Category: Humor Central, Proud Papa

Am I writing about a popular Sci-Fi movie? Hardly!

The pictures you see above are not an age progression of one child, but rather a collage of all my kids at around the same age. These pictures might not do this post’s intention justice, but in the flesh, their resemblance to each other, and me at [...]

A daddy to little girls

Jan 11th, 2008 | By Chuck | Category: Papa Prattle, Public Service

I’ve been spending a lot of time lately thinking about what it means to be a daddy to so many little girls. This isn’t something I’m new to. My oldest daughter will be celebrating her 13th birthday in a few short weeks.
I’m the sensitive dad, always have been. I have always been fully aware that [...]
